The Piedmont wine region, located in northwestern Italy, is renowned for producing some of the country’s finest and most prestigious wines. Nestled at the foot of the Alps, Piedmont benefits from a unique climate and diverse terroir that contribute to the complexity of its wines. It is especially famous for its bold reds made from the Nebbiolo grape, such as Barolo and Barbaresco, often referred to as the “King” and “Queen” of Italian wines. The region also offers elegant Barbera and Dolcetto wines, as well as the crisp white Arneis and the sweet, sparkling Moscato d’Asti.
